Do you know the story of George Junius Stinney Jr.? A young boy executed by electric chair at the age of 14 by the state of Southern Carolina after being falsely accused of killing two white girls.
Stinney's trial had an all-white jury, as was typical of the time. As most blacks were still disenfranchised and prohibited from voting, they could not be selected as jurors. More than 1,000 whites crowded the courtroom, but no blacks were allowed. Source 3b
